Heavenly - Your Sinuses Will Thank YouJan 02, 2008
By Leslie Chapman
"Blackthorne"
I have horrible allergies, and every winter I get extremely painful sinus headaches, not to mention swollen eyelids.
I purchased one of these for myself, and another for a friend.
I use these pillows for heat therapy, and have never used them for cold therapy.
Not only does the pillow smell wonderful, the aromatic herbs do help to soothe the sinuses. The weight on the face is just right, providing just enough pressure to help clear the sinuses. The pillow is incredibly soft and soothing, and holds the heat from the microwave for a very long period of time.
It was great to be breathing in less than five minutes, and have all the trapped fluid flee from my eyelids in less than ten.
I will be buying more of these pillows in the future for friends and family.

Doubtful purchase...believer in useJan 22, 2010
By A. D. Oltmann I was running out of Christmas gift ideas for my wife when I came across this little device. I was doubtful to say the least, but the reviews were encouraging. Who knows, from time to time one finds little things like this on Amazon that have all 5-star reviews and the thing is outstanding...other times it's a big let down.
This time the product delivered. My wife LOVES this thing. She was actually stuffed up Christmas day and used it later that night with great results. My response was "that's great", but I was thinking "yeah right".
I'm sure you can guess, a few days later I was stuffed up and my wife suggested I use the "eye patch" (as we call it). Not wanting her to know my skepticism at her "perceived" success...I heated it up and used it myself. It must have been a sight to see me laying on my back with a purple heated eye pack, but WHO CARES IT ACTUALLY WORKS. I was truly amazed; it lessened the pressure I was feeling and helped to clear my stuffiness.
I just want to be clear...it helped. It did not completely clear my head of all stuffiness. It did lessen the pressure and it did help to clear some of the stuffiness. I just don't want someone to purchase this thinking it will automatically fix all sinus congestion; it wont. It will help. I am sure if someone was willing to use this repeatedly for a long period of time it might remove all congestion, but I used it once. (Once being from the microwave to cool).
Overall I think this is a rare find. This is a product that delivers and does not cost all that much.
To be truthful I do have one problem with the "eye patch": the smell. I like the smell and so does my wife, the problem is our dog does too. Any time we use it the other person has to hold the dog or the dog comes and licks the bag or stands over the user and smells it almost the whole time.
It's a good buy.

great for sinus relief, headaches, stress, and insomniaJul 29, 2008
By women's studies scholar This was exactly what I needed and the price is a steal. I have allergies and chronic sinusitis and get frequent headaches. As the other reviewer said, this pillow opens up the sinuses very quickly when heated. The heat is exactly what I want, so I've never used it cold either, although I imagine it's very nice. When I'm stressed from a long day I use it and it usually relaxes me so much that I fall asleep. If you need something soothing, I honestly can't imagine a better choice than this pillow.

Not a face pillow. More of an eyes pillow.Feb 02, 2011
By eCognition Alright, so I was looking for something where I could lay my face down on the desk and leave my nasal passages open so I wouldn't suffocate and still get paid, during our many all-nighters we pull at our start-up. Rather than lay down in the car or somewhere else, I like taking my 20 minute power naps sitting at my desk, so I can poke fun at the lesser, mortal men who have to cozy up like little babies for theirs. But my neck always hurts when I lay my head on the desk sideways. Long story, short. This is the worst pillow a guy will ever have for his face. I gave it 4-stars because it smells like a girl prancing through the meadows. Apparently, I'm one of the only one's who took a pillow to mean something you rest something on, as opposed to something that rests on you. I've asked all guys within my vicinity and they all agree that the former definition should apply. Websters agrees, as well. You can't just go around changing definitions because you want to. There are rules, dangit. So I returned it. No more prancing girl and I've still got the aching neck. Waiting for a real face pillow.

VERY strongly scented!Jun 26, 2010
By L. Cox I bought this eye pillow based on the all the five star reviews. When it arrived, it was beautiful and packaged in a very nice, sturdy box that is perfect for storing the pillow. It is very well made and fits very nicely on the face. However, the scent was so strong I couldn't use it. Every time I got anywhere near the product I got sick to my stomach and made me feel even more congested. I usually am not very sensitive to smells. I am a massage therapist and use aromatherapy all the time. I left the eye pillow out to air for several days, but still the scent did not really lessen. I didn't want to send it back so I decided to replace the stuffing with plain rice. When I opened the pillow I found that the stuffing was at least 80% dried leaves and 20% rice. I think it would have taken a LONG time for the scent to fade. I am posting a picture of the stuffing so that people can see. Now that it is stuffed with rice, I love it. However, I would not purchase again because it was inconvenient to have to empty it and restuff it. But I do feel like it is a beautiful and well made eye pillow.
